Utdanning

I Norge i dag utdannes landskapsarkitekter med mastergrad ved NMBU og på AHO. Andre som søker opptak må kunne vise til relevant utdanning, praksis eller annet som kvalifiserer til opptak. Medlemmer kan også tas opp på særskilt grunnlag etter individuell behandling i NLAs medlemskapsnemnd. 

Landskapsarkitekt er ikke en beskyttet tittel i Norge. En landskapsarkitekt MNLA er medlem av NLA, og har master i landskapsarkitektur fra en utdanningsprogram som er godkjent av IFLA Europe.

NLA benytter kriteriene til IFLA Europe, International Federation of Landscape Architects. Engasjerer du en landskapsarkitekt MNLA, kan du derfor være trygg på at dette er en fagperson med solid utdanning.

Om landskapsarkitektutdanningene i Norge

Det finnes hovedsakelig to utdanningssteder for landskapsarkitektur i Norge i dag: 

1.) NMBU - Norges miljø- og biovitenskapelige universitet - tilbyr 5-årig master i landskapsarkitektur ved Institutt for landskapsarkitektur (ILA), Fakultet for landskap og samfunn (LANDSAM) og en 2-årig Global Master (GLA)

2.)  AHO, Arkitektur- og designhøgskolen i Oslo tilbyr i samarbeid med UiT Universitetet i Tromsø en integrert 5-årig master. De tre første årene ved AHO Institutt for urbanisme og landskap og de to siste årene er ved Universitetet i Tromsø, UiT. I tillegg er det en egen internasjonal master i henholdsvis Oslo og Tromsø.

  Om godkjenning av studiesteder og -programmer - IFLA Europe

  1. School Recognition Panel - IFLA Europe Recognition is done by the School Recognition Panel, consisting of 12 members, led by IFLA Europe Vice President for Education and consisting of Delegates or members of the National Association, involved both in the education (academics, teachers, professors etc) and professionals, as well as two members from ECLAS. 
  
  The standard documents that SRP is using in evaluating the programmes are the following:E1 IFLA Charter for Landscape Architectural Education 2017 with IFLA Europe addenda 2017

  E2 IFLA Guidance Document or Recognition or Accreditation 2008 with IFLA Europe addenda 2017
  E4 IFLA Europe Schools Checklist_V2017 (which gives more details on the requirements and how the school applying for programme recognition will fill it in, for example IFLA Europe insists on 50% studio work
  
  E5 EFLA_ECLAS Minimum requirements 

  Once a school sends all the documents, the SRP then considers them, they all give opinions and arguments and VP Education and SRP together make a final decision. We have just recently re-recognised NMBU Norway Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture for Global Sustainability, for a period 2022-2027!

  The School Recognition Panel is currently revising the recognition documents at the moment together with ECLAS since the documents are somewhat outdated and we also need to take into consideration a huge variety of programmes, methods and practices across Europe. 

  2. School Accreditation
  First of all, there is no IFLA recognition, there is only IFLA EUROPE recognition of landscape architecture programmes. IFLA, or IFLA World as we refer to them, does not recognise or accredit landscape architecture programmes or schools.
  
  IFLA Europe therefore does not accredit the programmes. This word 'accreditation' might have been used in the past but it has now been clarified that IFLA Europe recognises landscape architecture programmes while it is up to relevant National Accreditation authorities to accredit schools or programmes.
